First thoughts

At the moment we have to be totally honest.  Be careful when downloading this game as it's a monstrous 1.8GB which after downloading via Google PLAY, I had to download again via the game itself.  Which wasn't an impressive start as thats 3.6GB for a non HD game.  For some people over here, that's nearly 10% of their monthly data usage even on a home broadband connection.  Frankly I am not sure why these games are so big.  I mean Dead Trigger is an amazing game graphically but is less than 100MB for the HD version.  So why so big?  If Gameloft ever responded to our messages, we would give you an answer.

Once the game started, I was hugely relieved to see that just like with most titles from Gameloft before, it is fully play optimised.  We have full control pad support, including the analogue touch pads for movement and camera and you even get the button symbols pop up during the tutorial stages.  So despite being negative to Gameloft straight away, you have to give them credit for continuously supporting the Xperia PLAY.  Even though the gaming legend is nearly 18 months old.

The control are fluid, playing just like you would expect them too.  Graphically its a bit glitchy with whole scenes vanishing leaving Batman standing on thin air but when the elements do finally turn up, it looks good.  I mean the graphics are OK but not out of this world.  But let's all be honest here, graphics dont make a game amazing, the gameplay does.  It's a bonus when you have both but performance is everything for gaming and compromising detail for gameplay and smooth action is vital.

Our first impressions of this game are good but will it continue to impress as we play on?  Check back soon and we will finish this review in detail for you to base your buying decisions on.  In the mean time, check out some screenshots an dthe trailer.
