About

Hand-drawn 2D ultra violence has never looked this cute. With a vast array of enemies, guns and effects, Monster Shooter is one of the best-looking games of its genre which also runs smoothly on older devices. Never underestimate a guy whose cat has been stolen by aliens. As DumDum, you can blast your enemies with shotguns, plasma rifles and rocket launchers and spice things up with a handful of grenades... If they're still moving after that lot, use the nuke! The blood looks and sounds disturbingly fun!

Review

If you love ultimate arcade shooting action (like me), then you will love this game.  At least for a while.  If you want to give it a try for a few levels, then it's free... no biggy!  Well it's fremium to be precise.  Now freemium games do meet with certain criticism and for mixed reasons.  Myself; I don't like them.  You download a free version to try out the games, then if you like it... you buy!??  Right??  I guess the luxury of freemium games, is that developers can have more control over their content and it helps prevent piracy.  You start to like a game and then you get a limitation which costs to bypass.  Just give me a paid for version and I'll buy it.  Because this game is fun and full of action.

This game has everything to offer a good mobile gamer.  Short levels or stages.  Lots of enemies for fast paced alien blood lust.  A totally imaginitive setting and design to just block out that idiot on the train shouting on the phone.  Plus it has that pick up and play quality.  Quickly it will get harder for you with loads of options to upgrade weapons and ammunition.  Before you get to work, you will be fighting off armys of aliens and doing 360 degree spray fire just to survive a second longer.  Ha... you can tell that's happened to me.  I'll try and get a good screen grab next time.

The one thing that got me very excited about this game, was the video intro.  I love cartoons and this video actually made me giggle, whilst setting me perfectly in the role ready for the game.  From an artistic point of view, I salute the developers or whoever they hired for the artwork, because its perfect.  I look forward to seeing more little hidden clips as I get further in.  This is continued in the characters and the maps of the games too and lots of great animation.  Its gory with splashes and puddles of blood but its alien blood so its cute.

The controls have been implemented well to the touch analogue pads.  Remember Dead on Arrival?  Well it's control system is almost identical, so if you have played that game, then you know what to expect.  Although with this one, you can turn on auto aim.  So you can leave your brain power to process when to reload and where your next bit of health is coming from.  Is that cheating?  Maybe but it works so well.  The playability is nice and quick, as I said earlier the stages are nice and quick with star grading of how well you did.  I really am enjoying playing it at the moment.  It's very playable and not too tasking for short journeys.

If only there was a fully unlocked premium version.  Well there isn't so enjoy the free gameplay for as long as you can and then when it comes to purchase options, it's all up to you, whether you want to continue on or not.  Enjoy!
