XperiaGamer Celebrates 1000 followers!

One small step for XperiaGamer, one giant leap for our future!
Ok so please excuse the cheesy pun, we are just a little over excited. Simply because we have just hit 1000 followers on Twitter, how cool? We started back in July last year on Twitter and we only set it up to share cool things about our beloved Xperia PLAY. Then we started making videos so the YouTube channel came and then in October 2011 we launched this website. Not bad for a bunch of guys who just wanted to share some cool games and software. Anyway, we wanted to write this article to share with you some cool developments about this site and what you can expect to see soon.

First and most importantly, you are reading this article on our new website. It looks the same and offers the same great content, but there is a few minor improvements. Think of it like an update to an Android app, bug fixes, layout improvements and introducing a few new features. Now you will be able to directly like on Facebook, Tweet & Plus on Google+ directly from the menu or from within an article itself (as pictured). It is now also running a far superior server, meaning that page downloads and browsing should be a lot faster too. Finally, the new website software has a much better mobile version. So if you wanted to use a low bandwidth, smart phone friendly version, it is there for you to use.
We are also bringing very soon an RSS feed system of our website content also. So for all of you that use Google reader or some other form of feed reader. You will be able to receive a
ll of our website updates directly to your device. It was quite surprising to see analytics and see what devices most frequently view our website. No surprise its mostly Windows and Google Chrome users on our site and ofcourse for mobile Android. However it was surprising to see a lot of iPads on here too. Are you reading this on an iPad right now? Does the lack of flash cause any issues on our website?
So the new feed system will be hopefully be very very soon. We also hope that it would be incredibly simple to subscribe also. Maybe we shall put a giant FEEDS ME button in the menu.
We are also working on an Android app too. It won't be anything ground breaking but it will be a one stop shop for everything that we offer. So instead of flicking from YouTube or Twitter or even our website, you just open the app and it's all there. You can see on the side a cheeky screengrab of a working version. None of us are skilled app developers or coders but I do have a passion for designing and I think it looks nice. We have selected a few regulars to try it out for us and let us know there feedback, if you want to try it for us, then just This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . We hopefully will have this up and running sometime in the next month. Does this sound like a good idea? Would you guys use this?
We are also workig hard to update and improve our emulator section. Giving more detailed reviews on which emulators are better for what reason, where to get them from and links to roms too. We do also plan to add more YouTube tutorials for different consoles too.
So thats it for now guys. Thanks for continuing to support our geeky project and we hope you continue to enjoy being part of our team. :)
