Sony Tablet Series to Become Part of the Xperia Family

The replacement to the Sony Tablet S has leaked and shares with us a few details about the upcoming product line.
So the most interesting about this, is that allegedly (as not officially announced yet) the new Tablet series will be branded Xperia. I must confess that I am not totaly surprised as it always seemed to me that the Tablet S was missing an identity slightly.
The Tablet S was always appreciated as a Xperia product in our eyes though and has been an amazing gaming device, especially with the in built support for PS3 pads via Bluetooth. Hence why it has always been featured on this website, our videos and for showing off gamepad games.
This leak of the new Xperia Tablet looks pretty genuine and our friends over at XperiaBlog have even taken screen grabs of what could be the official Powerpoint presentation, giving us oodles of knowledge about the product. In fact, there is even a slide that compares the old device with the supposed new one. If it's all real, then the person who lost this slide deck, might be in serious trouble!
For starts, it's design is similar, I love the wedge shape and my Tablet S feels lovely to hold. Perhaps it could feel a little more premium though which is why the sound of a brushed metal body and it being splash proof is nice. My other favorite feature of the Tablet S was the full SD card slot, so I was happy that this has stayed inside too. However we no longer hav ethe micro USB slot, instead we have a proprietary ST connector which allows you to get all kinds of adapters for, including HDMI out, which was missing massively before.
Now a little on the juicy tech inside. We have a Tegra 3 instead of a Tegra 2, which does slightly contradict the Xperia Line up usually using the Snapdragon processors but NVidia have a huge history with computers and graphics so this isn't a bad thing. Plus it means that we get to write about both Tegra & Snapdragon compatible titles here on the site. It's also lighter, has better cameras on the front and back and apparently double the battery life. Sound sexy? Well... yes! I love my Tablet S as it is, these upgrades will be a big bonus when it comes out.
