Gameloft to use Unreal Engine

Gameloft are teasing the world with their first title to use the legendary Unreal engine.
For those of us that are les geeky about the development of games. It is unlikely you would probably even think for a split second about the engines which games are built around. If you look at games closely, you can start to tell which ones use the same type. For instance, Modern Combat 3 & Nova 3 appear to be incredibly similar just with different sequences and overlays on top. I don't know if they are exactly the same engines but I'm sure they are pretty close.
Well Gameloft, who we all know and love in the Android world, have announced that their next game will be powered by the Unreal engine. Why is this a big deal? Well the Unreal engine was a game changer for developers because of the way it was written using a particular code language which made it easier to modify. Meaning that people could modify the core engine easily. IT was mostly used for first person shooters but has been implemented in different styles successfully. Today it is used on every gaming platform out there from PS3 to Nintendo Wii and Android. In a more advanced incarnation of course. So this bad boy engine is going to be powering the next generation of Gameloft titles. As Android phones and tablets are being more and more appreciated as gaming devices, it's only natural that the detail is improved and this is a big step for someone like Gameloft. Although this wouldn't be the first time that we have seen unreal on Android. Dungeon Defenders, which is a great title for Xperia PLAY gamers, also uses this engine. If you have ever played this game, then you can clearly see the magic that the Unreal engine delivers as it is seemless and crisp.
So this game that Gameloft are showcasing Unreal with is called 'Wild Blood'. Have a look for yourself and let us know what you think. Do we know if it will be Xperia PLAY optimised? Nope, but Gameloft are continued supporters of the platform so it's very likely.
