Gameloft on Android Market

 

Gameloft have always made some great games for Android smart phones and have been a massive provider of high quality titles for the Xperia PLAY since it's launch.  However some of you may have noticed that these games are never available on Android Market, only through their own WAP store.  The reason for their boycott of Android Market is purely because of the amount of piracy & malware that has plagued market in previous years.

There is benefits to buying games with Android Market however I have found.  All of your purchased titles via Market are stored against your account, so if you need to change device or have multiple ones.  Then you are within your right to download your purchased titles to as many as you wish as log as you are logged in with your Google account.  This effectively is how easy it should be via Gameloft's user system but my experience hasn't been so great.  Give them credit though, their customer service is really good and I have always got my games back when I have contacted them.

Well it doesn't matter anymore as they have slowly started porting all of their titles to the Android Market.  This will include all of the Xpria PLAY optimized versions too but at the moment this is only 9MM and Nova 2.  There is a catch though... they are £2 more expensive..  Market £5 or Gameloft £3!  Where would you rather purchase from?
