Locnet's GameKeyboard to get a new update.
Soon Xperia Play users will be in for a real treat!! Ever wanted to play any Android touch screen controlled only games with your built in hardware gamepad controls ? Well soon you will be able to with the GameKeyBoard application by Locnet bringing you the new addition of touch screen mapping in a future update. The new update will include hardware to touchscreen button mapping, this means you will be able to assign any hardware key (eg UP/Down , Cross/triangle) on your Xperia Play's built in control pad and set a place on the screen for where that button will be mapped/linked to. Only issue for some is that this app needs Root for it to be able for it to work. So far we have only this video below by TLRtheory from XDA forums that shows setting up and game-play to go on, but expect this update to be implamented shortly.
What does this mean for Xperia Play gaming? This will mean no more waiting for developers to optimize games for our device. Any game you like will now be optimized by you, great for having the upper hand with complicated small onscreen button controlled games where you cant see much from round your fingers covering the screen. The only bad side to this is that you will only be able to take off the original onscreen controls if the actual game allows you to either toggle controlls off/on or allows you to set the transparency to make them vanish. Still a great idea and cant wait!!
